A fabulous Victorian, very heavy gauge chunky, curb link double albert watch chain, hallmarked in 1897

This rare to find heavy gauge (over 93 grams!), all original Victorian double Albert chain can be worn as intended to suspend a pocket watch or as a very stylish chunky chain necklace

All components are original to the chain, The T bar and both dog clips bear the same makers mark and hallmark date letter for 1897 and all links are stamped with the lion passant, denoting Sterling Silver

A classic curb link chain with a consistent chain width of 8.5mm throughout, a T bar is suspended from the middle, also complete with the drop section that would have had a fob attached (this section of chain can be removed if preferred)

Both dog clips and working perfectly and are fully aligned with good strong hinges. The chain does remain in super condition

Hallmark: Birmingham assay, date letter for 1897 to T bar and both dog clips, Lion Passant (for Sterling Silver) stamped on every link

Makers mark: H.P for Henry Pope (to all components)

Dimensions: Length end to end is 17 1/4 inches / 44cm, Links are 8.5mm wide, the T bar is 39.7mm long

Condition: Excellent antique condition, a lovely mellow, antique patina to the Silver
