Victorian Sterling Silver Albertina watch chain bracelet, hallmarked 1886

A rather beautiful Victorian Sterling Silver Albertina watch chain (The Albert chains prettier sister) that can be worn as a bracelet, dated 1886

A quality chain made up of 2 rows of curb link chain, the top chain featuring a central row of ornate links, the bottom chain featuring 2 rows of ornate links , all stamped with the Lion passant for Sterling Silver and the T Bar and dog clip that are original to the chain have the makers mark and date letter for 1886.

Unusual to find a hallmarked Albertina especially with the date letter that of course accurately dates the piece. The Albertina would have hung in 2 tiers so one row of chain is longer than the other, this also creates a lovely tiered look when worn as a bracelet

A striking, quality example of an Albertina that looks beautiful on the wrist with lots of ornate detailing and is a nice weight at over 20 grams

We have had a silver jump ring added to enable the Albertina to be worn as a bracelet (the dog clip clips to the jump ring)

Hallmarked: All links have the lion passant stamp (for Sterling Silver) and date stamped for 1886 to dog clip and t bar which are original and matching with makers mark W.H.C

Dimensions: 20.5cm / 8 1/4 inch long, links at widest point 8mm

Condition: Excellent antique condition, (the aged patina to the silver has been retained)
