1930's Art Deco, Natural Purple Sapphire, Palladium & Diamond Ring

A fabulous and rare to find original, Art Deco ring, fully hand crafted in the late 1930s in Palladium, set with an oval, natural, Ceylon, Purple Sapphire and Diamonds

Palladium is very similar aesthetically to Platinum and was used in Jewellery from the late 1930s to replace Platinum that was no longer available to Jewellers or any non essential non military applications during world war 2 around the time that this ring was made

The setting is rather spectacular with a raised geometric gallery typical of the Art Deco period, all skillfully and completely hand made from this hard precious metal

The 4.72 carat Natural Ceylon Purple Sapphire is set to the centre within 4 claws that rise up from the base of the gallery, beautiful deep violet with a slight red hue

Also set with 18 single cut diamonds that add a touch of sparkle against the cool white metal setting

The ring comes with an Independant Gemstone Jewellery Report from Anchor Cert Gem Lab (part of the Birmingham Assay Office) please see image for further details
