Antique, 15ct Gold Chased Heart Mourning Locket Necklace

A Sublime 15ct Gold Late Georgian to Early Victorian Heart mourning locket necklace c1820-1840

The beautiful Heart locket is adorned to the front with 3 split pearls and a faceted Chrysoberyl, upon a large ornate suspension ring that holds the ornate conical end terminals of the integral round box link chain, one terminal being a hidden clasp, all beautifully and very skillfully hand engraved

The 15ct Gold has a soft mellow yellow hue

Rare to find and in all original condition including the hair work to the rear glazed locket compartment, The necklace remains in superb condition

The necklace is wearable with care, the clasp works perfectly and clicks closed securely and remains securely closed when worn

The necklace is unmarked, tested as 15ct Gold throughout

Weight: 11.1 grams

Dimensions: The heart locket 16.2mm high x 15.6mm wide x 10.6mm depth excluding the suspension ring is 21.7mm high x 18mm including suspension ring

The necklace is 38cm/15 inches long, chain links are 1.8mm wide

Condition: Very good antique condition, just one teeny repair in the chain that isn't eye visible but can be felt with a hand where the gold has slightly fused, not at all detrimental, the piece is in amazingly well preserved condition
