Antique 18ct Gold, Natural Ruby & Old Cut Diamond Ring

A beautiful Antique 18ct Gold, Natural Ruby 4 stone ring, set with natural Rubies and old cut Diamonds, made c1900

This lovely late Victorian ring features 4 well matched natural Rubies of the most gorgeous pigeons blood colour, deep red with a slight pink hue, with natural characteristic inclusions and good translucency so the light can shine through and accentuate the magnificent colours

A little more unusual than most antique half hoop designs as this ring features 4 stones and is a little straighter at the front making it particularly suited to wearing next to a band or bands

6 little old cut Diamonds sit betwixt the rubies creating contrast and sparkle across the finger.

The setting sits atop of a handmade gallery in rich 18ct Gold, with exquisitely hand carved scroll motifs that fall to the shoulders, typical of this classic late Victorian design

The 4 Natural Rubies are estimated in the setting as having a total weight of 1 carat

The 6 old cut Diamonds are estimated in the setting as having a total weight of 0.15 carat

The ring is comfortable to wear, the setting sits off the finger by 3.8mm, the band has a d shaped profile

Condition: Very good antique condition, there is a nick to the table facet of 1 of the small diamonds that cannot be seen at all when worn, a little wear to the rubies to be expected ina ring of this age but only seen under magnification, not to the naked eye
