Antique, 18ct gold, oval locket, pendant

A splendid Victorian 18ct Gold hand engraved oval Locket c1860s

The locket is exceptionally beautiful with an embossed symmetrical design to the front and the back, in rich 18ct Gold, a very wearable size

The locket is complete with the original slightly convex glass insert that something special can be housed behind and kept safe for the next 100 years! (we would advise asking a working jeweller to remove the insert for you as it fits snuggly inside, they shouldn't charge for this service, or it can be carefully removed with a scalpel)

The locket closes with a reassuring click, on a 15ct Gold jump ring ready to add to an antique chain

Unmarked, the locket has been XRF tested as 18ct Gold throughout, the jump ring is 15ct Gold

Condition: Very good antique condition, there is a tiny ding to one side that is very hard to spot and this can be worn to the back. The locket has been gently cleaned and hand cloth polished, there are some hand engraved letters to the inside of the locket
