Antique, Solid 15ct Gold Dog Brooch, Pin

Late Victorian to Edwardian 15ct Gold Dog brooch by acclaimed Jewellers of the period, John Grinsell & Sons, made c1900

I Love this antique doggy brooch! He (yes he does appear to be a he as he is that detailed!) is hand made in solid 15ct Gold making him a heavy piece at 8 grams. He looks to be a Westie or even a border Terrier, whatever his pedigree he is certainly very cute! Lots of hand applied detailing to him, including fur and cute face. He is positioned at a jaunty angle upon a straight, bar and pin, also in solid 15ct Gold

The 15ct Gold is warm and rich, the colour only seen in 15ct Gold antique pieces and will look really charming upon a lapel!

The brooch closes securely with a pin, the hinge is good and strong

Condition: Very Good antique condition, excellent straight pin and hinge, no play in the hinge and holds open firmly
