A very wearable, fairly petite pair of Intricately hand carved Victorian Whitby Jet earrings - Lovely and light in the ears, the Jet remains shiney and catches the light as they sway pendulum like in the ears

On the original gilt mount fittings and we have added the Victorian style hook fittings, hand made by our Jeweller in recycled 9ct Gold

Whitby jet is in fact fossilised wood -a surprisingly light weight material - collected even to this day in and around the coastline of the beautiful seaside town of Whitby (in North Yorkshire) - a hard and strong material that can be fashioned into beautiful items of jewellery -0f course popularised by Queen Victoria in her mourning period after the death of her Husband, Prince Albert in 1861
