Victorian, Gold and Silver, double SWallow Brooch, set with rose cut Diamonds and Ruby cabochon eyes c1880, cased

The Swallow was a popular motif in the Victorian period, steeped in sentimental symbolism, Swallows are known to mate for life, this brooch features 2 swallows in flight darting and swooping in unison, symbolising love, loyalty and devotion

Exquisitely hand crafted from 9ct rose Gold, 24 rose cut Diamonds are set within Silver to each swallows body, featuring little open beaks in contrasting Gold and Ruby cabochon eyes. A single pearl is set to the left hand side of the bar.

The brooch closes with a simple pin and c clasp with a later added safety chain for added security

48 rose cut Diamonds with an estimated total carat weight of 1 carat,

4 natural deep pink Ruby Cabochons

1 pearl 3.6mm round (please not the Pearl has not been tested for natural origin so please assume it is cultured)
