Victorian, Sterling Silver, Hand Engraved Locket

A Beautiful Ornate Victorian Hand Engraved locket in Sterling Silver from the Aesthetic movement period c1880s

Lots of hand applied detailing to the raised panel front of this gorgeous antique locket, with ball detailed surround that are all fully intact, without holes or much wear

The locket is slightly domed to the rear in Plain polished Silver and remains in super condition, on the original bail ready to wear, suspended from an antique Silver chain or ribbon

The locket opens and closes securely with a good click, the inside contains a frame insert to one side (the other side is missing) and a special photo or keepsake can be stored inside

The locket is stamped to the rear STD.SILR for Standard Silver and tests as solid Sterling Silver

Makers mark: CS FS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & Frank Shepherd

Weight: 17.2 grams

Dimensions: 70mm long including bail, 42.5mm wide, 13.5mm depth

Condition: very good antique condition, No dings or dents to the front of the locket, there is a little ding near the bottom at the rear and a couple of very slight, very shallow undulations, not at all detrimental or noticeable but should be mentioned, lovely antique patina to the Silver
